CFE News: Mine Fans for Belaruskali II

CFE Technology GmbH reports its award of contract from CFT GmbH Compact Filter Technic for engineering, manufacturing and delivery of four (4) mine fans for potash in Belarus. The axial fan system with built-in motor, inflight variable pitch control and push-button reverse functionality, is capable reducing the time needed to go from normal to reverse operation in less than 10 minutes.

The system offers significantly higher efficiency and decisively increases the operational safety of the mines, while at the same time reducing costs.

The system offers several advantages that include fully automatic operation, a smaller overall footprint and significantly improved airflow control over competing solutions.

This adjustment for an underground mine consists of a non-hydraulic system and fulfill all criteria for ATEX IM2 Certificate. Heightened control comes from integrated blade adjustment in conjunction with variable speed drive.

This adjustment consists of a servomotor, a worm gear, a central rack and pinion gear that are directly connected to the blades.

A sensor on the worm gear monitors the change in angle. With this technology the blades can be adjusted to an angle of more than 180°. This ensures reversing operation with a flow rate significantly above 80% of normal operation.

For CFE’s flagship axial fan system with push-button reverse capability, the impeller is mounted on a shaft end from the main motor. A servomotor on the outer fan housing controls the blades in flight.
